WOSCONET Applauds REDFoundation's Backing by Enugu State Government for Empowering Young Women
In a significant stride towards addressing youth unemployment, the Women Support Women Community Network (WOSCONET) extends warm congratulations to REDFoundation on securing the Enugu State Government's full backing for a transformative Mega State-Wide Soft Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Training Project.
REDFoundation has earned recognition for its commendable track record in Community Organizing, Youth Engagement, and Social Development. The groundbreaking initiative aims to mobilize and empower 20,000 young women (ages 18-35) across various communities in Enugu State through Jobberman's Soft Skills Training.
The first phase of the project, spanning from January to April 2024, promises substantial benefits for participants. In addition to Soft Skills Training, REDFoundation plans to roll out Entrepreneurship Development Trainings, Career Clinics, Job Fairs, and establish a Job Centre at the Local Government Area level in Enugu State.
WOSCONET commends the Enugu State Government for its support and emphasizes REDFoundation's role in ensuring women's active participation in Human Capital Development activities. The network encourages eligible young women in Enugu State to seize this opportunity for personal and professional growth.
The project, implemented by REDFoundation in collaboration with Jobberman Nigeria and with special support from MasterCard Foundation, aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This initiative reflects WOSCONET's commitment to empowering women, fostering social accountability, and advancing community development.
WOSCONET, headquartered in Enugu, Nigeria, operates globally, focusing on individual women's needs, advocating for their rights, and addressing societal challenges. The network's core values of organization, compassion, and passion for problem-solving drive their comprehensive initiatives, complementing governmental and organizational efforts.
