IMT Shines, Bags Another Academic Milestone with Inaugural Degree Graduates in Different Disciplines

Enugu's Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) has achieved a significant academic milestone with the release of its first set of graduating students under degree programs in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

In a memo released by IMT's Rector, Prof. Augustine Uchechukwu Nweze, PhD, the institution proudly announced a remarkable success rate of 87.96% among the pioneer graduating students across various degree programs. These programs encompass a range of disciplines, including Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Marketing, Mass Communication, Public Administration, and Statistics.

Established in 1973 and modeled after the renowned Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA, IMT currently boasts nine academic schools and 40 academic departments. Prof. Nweze highlighted that this achievement represents a major watershed in the academic development of the institute.

In a phone interview, Prof. Nweze expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the learning environment at IMT, emphasizing its role in fostering academic, moral, and skill development among students. He underlined the institute's commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically proficient but also possess commendable character.

The attainment of university status has been a longstanding goal for IMT's management team, led by Prof. Nweze. To realize this vision, the institute strategically partnered with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to offer degree programs in diverse disciplines. This collaboration has culminated in the successful graduation of the inaugural set of students, marking a significant step toward the realization of IMT's university status.

The management's dedication to elevating IMT's academic standing underscores the institute's commitment to providing quality education and contributing to the broader academic landscape in Nigeria.
