Enugu Youths Condemn Protracted IMT Probe Amid Swift ESUT Clearance, Call State Government's Attention to Campaign Promises.

In a fervent expression of their stance, the Concerned Enugu State Youths (CESY) have issued a unanimous condemnation of the protracted investigative proceedings at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu.

According the youth group, the probe carried out by an 8-Man Investigative Panel commissioned by the Enugu State Government, has come under scrutiny for its lengthy duration and perceived bias approach, while drawing attention to the swift exoneration of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) in relation to the tragic deaths of students occurring on its campus.

CESY's questioning of the state government's priorities has brought forth a poignant query: Does the Enugu State Government suddenly prioritize the pursuit of perfection at IMT over investigating and safeguarding the lives of ESUT students?

This question arises due to the stark contrast in the timelines of the two investigations. While the government was able to investigate and promptly clear ESUT of any culpability in the tragic student deaths within a mere two hours meeting, the inquiry into IMT's activities and practices has stretched into its second week without reaching a resolution.

Through their Press Release in Enugu on Thursday morning, CESY emphasizes that their concern, as expressed in this press release is not exclusively focused on the perceived bias in the prolonged IMT probe. Instead, their primary concern lies in the need for the state government to fulfill at least one of its campaign promises. This comes after nearly 100 days of the current administration's tenure.

The youth group argues that the government should channel its efforts towards fulfilling its commitments to the public, rather than engaging in targeted probes and investigations that may divert attention from its core responsibilities.
